Thomas Jackson is our senior vice president, general counsel and secretary and manages the company’s global legal affairs, as well as all corporate governance and compliance functions at Knowles Corporation. He advises and counsels the Board of Directors and the leadership team on a broad range of legal, business, governance, compliance, policy and strategic matters including key operational initiatives, risk assessment and mitigation, major transactions, litigation and corporate citizenship.
Before joining Knowles, Thomas served as vice president and assistant general counsel at Jabil Circuit, Inc. where he played a key role in advising senior leadership on divestiture activities of a billion-dollar business unit. He also helped position the company as a leader in its market by spearheading a strategic acquisition of a precision injection molding firm.
Previously, Thomas was vice president, general counsel and secretary at Glatfelter Company from 2009 to 2011, where he was a key member of the executive team and influenced key decisions to invest in capital projects, enabling the company to exceed ROI projections by 19 percent. He also led a key acquisition which positioned the company to effectively penetrate a rapidly growing consumer products sector.
Thomas also served in legal and compliance roles at C&D Technologies, Inc., Ametek, Inc.,and Exelon Corporation, where he oversaw day-to-day legal affairs and corporate compliance matters, counseled executives, and handled all M&A and international transactions.
He has a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical and electrical engineering from Drexel University and an MBA from Villanova University. He received his Juris Doctor from Villanova University School of Law. He is a member of the American Bar Association and the Association of Corporate Counsel. He holds a legal license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and State of Florida.
Thomas lives in the Chicago area with his wife and two children.
