Quality assurance

Our proven track record of quality excellence gives you confidence that we can consistently provide dependable products.

In the 1960s, the Apollo 11 astronauts wore our BA/BB microphone and receiver headsets when they landed on the moon, establishing Knowles as a company known for quality. In the 1990s, the Knowles EK-3132 microphone was used for the Mars Polar Lander. Our heritage continues as NASA, medical technology companies and others continue to turn to Knowles’ acoustic solutions.

With our Quality Management System, we can ensure design integrity, efficient manufacturing and cost effective on-time delivery. Based on ISO-9001 standards and Six Sigma principles, we drive constant enhancements in our processes – focusing on long-term improvement as a means to achieve flawless execution.

We recognize that your work is what matters most to you so our manufacturing facilities follow a disciplined approach to quality assurance including:

  • Tools for process development
  • Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
  • Control Plans
  • Statistical process controls
  • One hundred percent functional testing of transducers
  • Operator training and certification programs
  • In-process audits
  • Ongoing reliability testing (for process validation)

We also perform comprehensive product performance testing to ensure our devices have the ability to withstand extreme conditions and environments.
