Quality Assurance

Knowles' commitment to quality excellence began in 1954 when we introduced the first miniature microphone and receiver for hearing aids. The evidence of our quality heritage continued as NASA turned to our technology and quality. In the 1960's, the Apollo 11 astronauts wore our BA/BB microphone and receiver for headsets when they landed on the moon. And during the 1990's, the Knowles EK-3132 microphone was used for the Mars Polar Lander.

Knowles Quality Policy

Knowles' Quality Management System ensures design integrity, efficient manufacturing and cost effective on-time delivery of our products and services. We maintain the Quality Management System based on ISO-9001 and continually improve its effectiveness. We promote compliance with customer requirements and believe in continuous measurable improvement as a means to achieve customer satisfaction.

Continuous Improvement

Knowles uses Six Sigma principles to drive improvements in products and processes at all locations. Six Sigma helps identify a problem's root cause. Rather than suffice as a containment action, our process promotes long-term improvements instead of short-term fixes. This approach is globally accepted as a methodology that applies logic and data to problem solving.
